Miss the Boat
I had some feelings for you.  I always did adore you.  When I saw the interest that you showed, I hit the ground but then I hit the road.  Well it seems to me you've come around too late.
I always waited for you.  Until I realized that you are you.  Someone else has swept me off the ground.  That's where I landed when you turned me down.  Well it seems to me you've come around too late
There was a time you had the chance, you threw it all away. Always thinking that I'd be back some day.
I lost you in the shining sun. I lost you for a better one. Someone else has swept me off the ground that's where I landed when you turned me down.  Well it seems to me you've come around too late.

Happy Day

Pick a daisy.  See a star.  Find a dollar on the sidewalk.  Get a raise and win a car.  Gonna punch out on the time clock.  In an oyster see a pearl.  Pick it up it doesn't bite you.  In a crowd you see a girl.  Funny thing she really likes you.
Sometimes sadness rises with the sun.  Like the sky it won't go away.  If you'd only look around it's one happy day.
Kick a can and ride a bike.  Time for dinner mommy's calling. Hold a hand you really like.  Look around the leaves are falling. Make a snowman.  Climb a tree.  In the mail you get a letter.  Here we go it's hide and seek.  Funny thing she lets you catch her.
Sometimes sadness rises with the sun, but it goes down.  Like the sky it won't go away, but neither will the ground.  Sometimes life can get you down with all the pain it brings.  Take a minute.  Look around at all the little things.

Umland

There are times in this life there's too much to do.  There's a place that I go.  You can go there too.  Step outside of the glass full of falling sand.  Take a breath.  Look around here in Umland.
You'll see that water is dripping in the sink in the kitchen and the bedroom light's left on.  I'm where I want to go.  I leave on the radio.  I want to hear this song.  There's nothing better than a handwritten letter that's fifteen pages long.
Each day has twenty-five hours and the weeds are the flowers and the grass is getting long.  Time is always on my side and your arms are open wide the clock is always wrong.  My bed is never made and haste's bill is never paid the night is never gone.
And when they tell us that the grass is long, we know.  We sat here for the past two weeks and watched it grow.  Here people listen and here people understand, in Umland.

Oops

She's my friend, and she's a girl.  My hair's straight and hers has curl.  I'm a dog and she's a cat.  We would never fight like that.
I tell her when I am blue.  She tells me her problems too.  I know that she'll understand.  When she's scared she holds my hand.
She's my girlfriend, and no she's not my wife.  She has someone else in her life.  She's my girlfriend, and she's seeing other men cause-My girlfriend has a boyfriend.
I treat her like my sister.  I wouldn't ever kiss her.  Cause if somehow her mister found out he would want to kill me.
I like rock and she likes roll.  I like disco she likes soul.  They say opposites attract.  Me and her we prove that fact.
She's my girlfriend, and no she's not my wife.  She has someone else in her life.  She's my girlfriend, and shes seeing other men cause-My girlfriend has a boyfriend.

Purple Car

Wait a minute!  What's that?  I didn't see.  Lets walk a little faster.  Take a look, take some time, take a picture as they walk right past her.
It's hard to believe there's no one here at night.  Cause when the sun goes down, like a bunch of bugs, they're drawn to the city lights.
And I know that time keeps passing by.  This is one more thing I don't want to end.  And if it seems like I never say that I love you, you know that's what I'm thinking every time I see you my friend.
Taking a walk in this old town our faces getting rosy.  My grandpa must have grown up here, cause it seems like everybody knows me.
Mister won't you play us this one song?  Cause when the sun comes up on these winding brick roads, we'll have walked them till we're gone.
Sleep comes easy.  It's been a long night.  The ground I could have kissed her.  Even though my eyes are closed I still can hear you whisper.
There's something here that takes us home again.  It's the welcome smile and the warm embrace of our family and our friends.

Everybody's Friend
I took a walk the other day.  Around the block, about a mile.  I met some people on the way.  As they walked on by we shared a smile.
Was it just a waste of time?  Should it be for someone else?  It doesn't matter, cause I'm not gonna leave them useless on the shelf.
They say you shouldn't spread your love too thin. You're gonna end up alone in the end.  No matter how small, you reach them if you can.  I'm just trying to be everybody's friend.
He walks the streets every day, looking for a friend to care.  They all answer, "That's ok; I've already got my share."
I believe that love's mysterious.  The more you give the
more you get.  They say we shouldn't hold too many dear
to us.  I do, and I haven't run out yet.
They say you shouldn't spread your love too thin. You're gonna end up alone in the end.  No matter how small, you reach them if you can.  I'm just trying to be everybody's friend.

That Girl's Greek

She lost me when she walked in the door.  One look at her told me she was Greek.  She said things I'd never heard before.  She spoke words I'd never speak.
I didn't know what she was trying to describe, but I kept on nodding like I did.  When she asked me what I thought, I replied, "I agree.  Just like you said."
So tell me why do we listen even when it don't make sense.  Somehow we think it might sink in.  So many people want to give us their two cents.  Someday I'll cash those pennies in.
I've been to France before.  I've seen the Eiffel Tower.  But I can't speak a word of French to you. Everything I try to say with chocolate and flowers, they can tell you in a word or two.
It doesn't make much sense to me.  The concepts are the same.  The things we say seem similar enough.  But when I'm talking to you all my words they sound so plain.  When they talk the language is called "love".
So please talk clear to me tonight.  I'll do my best to understand.  We mean just what we say when we walk hand in hand.  I hope you never have to wait to find out what I meant to say. You waste your time, you waste my breath that way.

To Whom It May Concern
You're what I want to see walking down the aisle. You're what I want to see, I want to see you smile. You're what I want to see each and every night.  You're what I want to see.  What a sight!
And I see you staring too.  What a view.  What can I do?  Can it be?  Hopefully, you will see me too.
You're what I want to hear when I pick up the phone.  You're what I want to hear when I come home. You're what I want to hear my heart begin to pound. You're what I want to hear.  What a sweet, sweet sound!
And I hear you talking too.  Words so true.  What can I do?  Can it be?  Hopefully, you will hear me too.
You've got to tell me if I'm making myself clear.
You say I'm coming through just fine.  I can't see things if I'm not sure that they're not real.  I can't read lips unless they're touching mine.

All of You
I fell in love with music when I was three years old.
I had a song for everything.  I only knew one note.  My mom she was so proud of me.  Said I was on my way.  And when I played those simple songs she clapped away.
And I still play the same old songs.  I know a few more notes.  I want to play a song for you.  It's one I wrote.  And it's a song for all of you who always cheered us on.  You sat there even when we played the same old song.
And you clap for a song you could have sung yourself.  One you've heard so many times, you know so well.  And after all that you've been through, this time why don't you clap for you?
We try to change the way we look, all of our music too.  A different sound, a better sound, just something new.  We speed it up, we slow it down.  We try to play it loud.  But when we play the same old songs we hear it from the crowd.
And you clap for a song you could have sung yourself.  One you've heard so many times, you know so well.  And after all that you've been through, this time why don't you clap for you?

One and a Million
In my life there's only one of you.  No one else can reach me like you do.  I don't know what makes us different.  I never told you just how much that meant.
When I see you start to smile.  I'm reminded all the while.  In my life there's only one of you.
When you lose the only one you've got.  What you once had, now you have not.  You're one thing I never could replace.  No one has your hands, your heart, your face.
Now I'm stuck here trying to keep the only one I knew.  For you I give up everything, you know I do.
If I never saw your face again.  Though I never want that to happen.  If it did I'd live with no regrets.  Cause everything to this point has been worth it.
When I see you start to smile.  I'm reminded all the while.  In my life there's only one of you.
