Kristin Jacobsen, Buaffalo (or close enough), NY - Sunday, January 24th, 2010 11:10 PM
Hello. So my friend Guisela heard you perform over the weekend out there in Cali. She called today and told me to check out your website...You are very gifted. Your musical intuition is very right on. You have so much depth in both lyric and vocals. SO, have you ever listened to Prarie Home Companion on public radio? It's usually on at 6-8 on Saturdays on public radio, but varies with each station. Garrison Keillor is incredibly brilliant. He has a great sense of humor as well. But he invites musical guests, some more known than others, but delights in helping to "discover" new artists. GET ON THIS SHOW! You'll love the experience, he'll love you and so will the thouseands of fans. Good luck and let me know when you're heading to the East coast (and when you get on this show-and yes, I am emailing them too :)Blessings, Kristin

AJ, St. Louis, Missouri - Sunday, January 10th, 2010 10:36 PM

Yep, the "Demo of the Week" is the song that's gonna make you incredibly famous. Some smart Hollywood producer is going to use it for Grey's Anatomy or something. Then we can say we knew you when you did concerts in our living room! :-)

Mariah, Grapevine, TX - Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 2:43 PM
I saw you on Good Morning Texas for the first time this morning. I like your style of music. For some reason, you remind me a little bit of my brother(who sings and plays guitar in a local band and started out with acoustic) and my late dad. It touched me reminding me of my dad who also played acoustic guitar and sang. Hope to see you at some local places! Thanks, Mariah

Sal Cialdella, Frisco Texas - Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 10:13 AM
Just heard you on WFAA, you sang Lake Geneva. You're from Wisconsin, so am I, or actually my wife is, born and raised in Delavan. I lived in Lake Geneva, Delavan, Williams Bay and worked in most of the bars as a doorman in my earlier years. I designed logos for Fat Cat's, What used to be City Slickers and Hogs and Kisses.

I've been in Texas 5 years now. There's parts of WI that I miss, and a lot I don't. I left a lot of memories up there. Best of luck on your tour, you sounded great.
Sal

Jon, I can barely get my 3 kids to sit quietly, peacefully & do anything together without a squabble ;-) Last night's concert was lovely. You have the old soul of storytellers before you... You inspired my children to listen to something I've been trying to for years... My 12 y/o Barber Shop Boy said "I love his music! I love Jon Troast! He inspired me!" All I can say is "wow," I never expected to hear those words from my son. Thank you for sharing your gift with us - you gave my family something new to open their hearts too.

Ish - Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 1:09 PM
Hey Jon, it took me a while to write since your performance but it's never too late! You did a great job and I will definetly be joining the crowd at Lake Geneva, only a 2 hour drive you know! Can't wait to see you then! Good luck on the rest of your concerts!

Julie Ann, Wheaton, IL - Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 10:52 AM
Jon, last night was simply a magical evening. You can't underestimate the power of having a gifted artist perform in such an intimate space! All those who stayed home to watch NCAA basketball missed a golden opportunity, but those who were there left feeling full -- an not just from cupcakes! Thanks SO much for sharing God's gift of you, one living room at a time! :-)

Kris Klimisch, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin - Sunday, April 5th, 2009 10:34 PM

We have never done anything like this, and all of our friends, from the 5 yr old to the 40+ year old...ALL WERE in AWE!!! Thank you doesn't seem to cut it...but as my daughter said tonite - "mom, I really want to hear Jon Troast perform again!!". So - there you have it!!
Thanks so much, Jon, for creating such great memories! Look forward to show #100~~

Grady, Wheaton IL - Friday, January 2nd, 2009 11:40 AM
I'm an overnight fan... my cousin gave me "Second Story" for Christmas and I was hooked from the first listen. I hope you'll do a show in Chicago some time.

Mike Sullivan TTBF - Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 12:01 PM
Hey Jon. Hope all is well with you. My life is good at the moment. Hey. I just heard Miranda Lambert perfom "More Like Her". It sounds exactly like your music & style (almost like she stole it. lol). Anyway, you should check it out if you have not already. Peace and Merry Christmas. Mike

Jon, Oak Park, IL - Monday, December 22nd, 2008 12:39 AM
Hi Jon, nice to meet another non-H'er among Jons (not Johns). Like your tunes... you playing near Chicago or Milwaukee any time soon? Would love to get a CD.

Rick Fountaine, Lake Geneva,Wi - Thursday, December 18th, 2008 10:08 PM
Hi, I was playin at Popeyes on the 17 when a few others kids gave me crap for not knowing who you were when you came in, and needless to say this was enough incetive to check out your music. So i just wanted to drop a line sayin that I do really like your music, and I really admire that you are doing the 100 dollar tour i think that its a wonderfull idea.

Peter Nguyen, Torrance CA - Saturday, November 29th, 2008 10:55 PM
Thanks for playing at our house! You rocked and it was great to have you here. Many of my friends that i brought to the show loved it and are now fans...myself included. Please come back and play again or if you're doing a show in the area, I'll definitely be sure to come and see you. Hope to see you again sometime in the near future.

Erika - Friday, November 21st, 2008 3:49 PM
Hi Jon. I discovered you today...I guess my profession for the day was explorer! :) Thank you for your music and for sharing it with imagination. I watched your videos on myspace (I kept laughing out loud)and loved the sense of community and family that a concert in the living room creates. Hope you have great travels and maybe sometime I'll get to enjoy your melodies in a living room somewhere. Take care.

Allison, Wilmington, NC - Monday, November 10th, 2008 8:04 PM
JON! you were amazing at windy gap this past weekend. thank you so much for your songs. Wedding ring is my favorite! Good luck!!

Ally Leach, Raleigh, NC - Sunday, November 9th, 2008 7:17 PM
I LOVE JON TROAST!
Heaven's Got the Time and Knock Down are the greatest songs ever!!

Tori, Grand Rapids, Michigan - Friday, November 7th, 2008 8:53 AM
Jon, I was wondering if it is still possible for me to buy the album with the song "Something More" on it. I love all of your work, and that song is absolutely wonderful! I was hoping to have it played at my wedding this coming summer. Is there a way for me to purchase this CD please? Thanks, Tori

olivia - Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 11:47 AM
Please come back. My credibility and Kool were greatly enhanced by "getting"you here!
You were a perfect artist and a very attending guest, and I hope to follow your career for a long time to come. Repeated listenings are not just in order, they are a JOY!

Trey from Danbury NC - Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 10:44 AM
I'm the big guy that played in the last warmup act last Sunday. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your music. Best of luck to you.

Stay Safe

Wendi Uselton, Danbury, NC - Sunday, October 19th, 2008 9:31 PM
Hey Jon,
I really enjoyed your concert tonight as well as meeting you. I have to tell you, keep doing the song about your sister's adoption/mom's wedding ring. It almost made me cry. The sign of a great song.

I'm sold. I'll be a long time fan!. Your bumper sticker goes on my truck first thing in the am. (Of course, by this point, my truck is starting to look like a bad red neck joke - but one more can't hurt - right?)

Take care and wishing you safe travels!
Wendi

Kris, St. Louis, MO - Thursday, October 16th, 2008 7:51 PM
I was invited to the recent St. Louis concert in Somebody's Living Room, but I couldn't make it. Hey, my daughter had a birthday party that night, so I think I had a good excuse. Sorry I missed the show!

So, what kind of guitars do you play/tour with?

Chris M, Tunkhannock PA - Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 12:26 PM
Great singer/songwriter! We had a great time. Today's pop music has lost any sort of story or emotion. Your songs have depth. This concept of playing to a small captive audience makes a lot of sense. You gained real fans here. You're making it happen for yourself. You're an inspiration to a lot of us musicians that watched and listened lastnight...Bravo!

Kim, Mechanicsburg, PA - Monday, October 6th, 2008 11:35 AM
Jon,
Dirk and I had such a great time last night listening to you play again. We're so glad you came back to Mechanicsburg! And we hope it won't be the last time! You are an extremely talented singer/songwriter and we wish you all the success in the world. You deserve it.
Thanks again for a great concert. Take care of yourself!

Abby, Houghton, MI - Monday, September 15th, 2008 4:11 PM
Jon, I just got my CD, and can't stop listening to it! It's making me late to things because I can't pull myself away from the stereo to go get ready to go!
I love the song "Joy", and the lyrics have already been a blessing to me. It's hard being so far away from home and everything I know, but the reminder to continue to rejoice is convicting and also encouraging.
Love the sound, love the lyrics, love the fact that when people ask me about my t shirt I get to say, "Yeah, he's my cousin" = )

Katya Lefrançois Quebec city - Sunday, September 7th, 2008 9:09 AM
WOW amazing voice... I love the songs so much!!

Brandon, East Troy, WI - Thursday, September 4th, 2008 8:20 AM

You played for my Granddaughter, Megan's, 16th birthday Aug. 27 in Lake Geneva. She loved it ! Your were great and I will be looking forward to checking out your other venues. We worked hard to make her special day perfect, and you were the icing on the cake. Keep up the great music. Grandma Janet.

Kristi Kranz Lino Lakes Minnesota - Friday, August 29th, 2008 6:06 PM
My niece Megan had one request for her 16th b-day party... have Jon Troast play! You did and were so appreciated by she and her friends. Thanks for taking the time to share your music with the group and more importantly share a bit of yourself. Your time spent visiting with them was a highlight and they commented on how "cool" you were and how much they liked your music. Play on my friend!

Alan - Sunday, August 24th, 2008 12:31 AM

We had a great time seeing you perform here in Illinois. It is always wonderful to listen to you live. Looking forward until next time!!

Jeremy Alessi, Oak Lawn, IL - Sunday, April 27th, 2008 11:28 PM
Thanks for the awesome concert in my living room experience. It's not often that you can have one of your favorite artist play a concert in your living room. I thought about this possibility several years ago listening to August and Everything After by the counting Crows knowing it was recording in Adam Duritz' living room. How cool would that be, I thought, for that to be my living room. Now I know. And I respect you (Jon) as an artist more than Adam Duritz. You also made me miss my huge beard that got axed several years ago.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I posted you on my Alessi Photography blog on blogger. If you need any pictures done ever, let me know. Also how many pairs of red shoes you got man?

Midlothian Illinois - Sunday, April 27th, 2008 7:21 PM

Hey Jonny (yes, that's the way I'm gonna spell it cuz I know you have some kind of weird phobia about h's in your name). Rachel and I are excited about your new CDs. We need to pick those up this summer before we head back here to Indo. Hey! I've got a great idea! You can come over here and do a tour! Yeah! That would be awesome! They would love you here. Of course, it would cost you a lot more than you would make, but it would be worth it, right? We could play foos and hang out. Anyway...I hope we can see you some this summer. We should be getting back to the States around June 1st and we leave again in early August. We'll hook up. Check out our blog if you haven't seen it yet

Susan Kozo, Edison, NJ - Thursday, December 6th, 2007 2:55 PM
Ed Menapace is the son of my former secretary, and I shop in his new Westfield store as often as I can. I was there on Monday, and he told me how excited he was when he first heard your music. He said you went to his home and it was wonderful; he suggested I go to your web-site where a picture of his guests, including his parents and sisters would be found. I did that today.
Traveling as you do must be a lot of fun... but I suspect tiring, as well.
Please let me know the name of your CD and where I might be able to purchase it. I live in Edison, NJ.
Perhaps one day I will get to hear you in person.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you during this busy time. of the year.

Michael, Colorado Springs,CO - Monday, November 5th, 2007 5:42 PM
I saw you up at frontier ranch, and you were phenominal so I got your cd. I love the cd, but where is the diamond song, that old way of thinkin, and the bitterness song. Those were my favorites and they aren't on the cd.

Cameron, Colorado Springs, Colorado - Sunday, November 4th, 2007 10:06 PM
Hey Jon,
I decided to check out your website once I got home from the YoungLife camp you were playing at and I just wanted to express how much I like your album. It definitley has a great vibe and I was just wondering if the "bitter" song you sang up at Frontier was on a previous CD. Keep up the good work and I will see if my YoungLife leaders can book you for the next $100 dollar tour.
Your New Fan,
Cameron

lil_traveler Edmond, OK - Monday, October 29th, 2007 4:03 PM
Hi Jon, I heard you on Prairie Home Companion, you've got a great sound. Please don't change too much. I hate when artists start out and they sound great and then they become more mainstream and their sound changes. To tell you the truth, it's usually a very sickening change. So all I'm saying is you got something good, don't allow someone to change it just because they tell you that's what people want to hear. It's all a lie. We want to hear originality, that's you have, well done.

lynne ypsilanti michigan - Friday, October 26th, 2007 12:24 AM
saw you perform in a beer joint in milwaukee while there for a conference...loved ya!! bought a cd for myself and a friend

Ronn Barany Portage, IN - Monday, October 15th, 2007 10:34 AM
Hi Jon! Just wandering through cyberspace and landed here. Thought I'd say hello. Hello!
Just a random thought...Should you ever do a live recording in France you could call it French Troast. Though unlikely, this could also be used if you are ever egged while performing. Both yours for the taking - no charge. Keep on pickin'! Ronn

Julie Ripley, Elkhorn, WI - Monday, October 8th, 2007 9:23 PM
Hi Jon,

Saw you the other night opening for America. You and the band were just great. My daughter(Erica Ripley) knows you and told me you all were the opening act. I am loving the CD's I bought. God Bless you as you travel down these new roads. Good luck in all you do.

God Bless.

Clare, Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Friday, October 5th, 2007 6:13 PM
Hey there, it's Clare again. I was just wondering what albums the songs you played last night were on. I didn't purchase any of the CDs last night [though I should have!]. Or at least do you have a set list you could e-mail me? I've been searching for some of the songs and cannot find them, like Lake Geneva, etc. Thank you so much!

Clare, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Friday, October 5th, 2007 9:32 AM
Hi there! My family and I were at the America concert last night at UW-Whitewater and I just wanted to drop a line saying I loved your music! Normally, I don't look forward to the opening act, I'm more like "America. Now." =] But after listening to you guys, I was disappointed when you finished. So thanks for changing my stereotypes of opening acts, you guys were awesome! Absolutely loved every song you played. Hope to see you in concert again soon!

Karen, New Glarus, WI - Friday, October 5th, 2007 9:24 AM
Hi Jon - I very much enjoyed your performance at UW-Whitewater last night! I am listening to Second Story right now and absolutely love it. I think my favorites so far are "The Most", "Was It Ever Really Mine", and "Family". There was one song you did last night that I don't know the title of and I think might not be on this CD. The lyrics were something like, "you'd be good for me, we'd be good for each other, we just need more love". I'm sure I don't have that quite right, but hopefully you know which one I'm referring to. What is the name of that song, and where can I find it? Actually, I'd love to know what the entire set list was. I remember some of the titles but not all. This morning I wrote a little bit about your performance on the America fan blog, America.AccessBackstage.com, under the title of Friday AM Jam. Thanks for a wonderful show, Jon!

Ruth Dotson, Walworth,Wisconsin - Thursday, October 4th, 2007 7:20 PM

I've been enjoying your cd ever since. props to the female vocals in the cd too! i enjoy what she does in a couple of the songs. i'm probably the biggest fan right now of the song 'hurt me like a good friend' - it kinda reminds me of an artist i really like - Damien Rice from his album O. Anyhoo, thanks for sharing your music. why don't you come down to chicago sometime? that would rock! thanks for what you do! Peace!

Hey Jon!

Like a bunch of other people, I first heard you on Prairie Home and now I've gotten my whole family addicted to your music. I just moved to Colorado to start grad school, and your Sept. 13th show is about 1/2 hour away from where I'm living now! So I'm totally looking forward to meeting you there...is there any chance you could play Lake Geneva and America Folk during the show? See ya in a little less than a month! :)

~Benjamin

Natasha, Davidson, NC - Saturday, August 18th, 2007 9:57 PM
Two questions. 1. Do you ever play in North Carolina? I'd love to see you live.

2. What is the meaning of the Dish and the Spoon song? I love it, but it confuses me!

HA!!!!! I'm glad you liked Waldo......next time, you'll have to check out Waldo (Not So) State Park. Many a night in my childhood was spent playing tennis there until the darkness came. Undisregardless of the lack of light, we would proceed to play until it got to hitting each other (mainly me hitting my friend, Danny) with the tennis ball from across the court. Ah, good times

So how'd you know about Ms. Tinkelton??

Jon...I love your music. Whenever i hear you are playing somewhere i always try to go. Was It Ever Really Mine is such an amazing song. Lake Geneva is also an amazing song. It's my favorite song ever! It's so true. I think it's amazing how you so easily can sing what people are thinking. You really get it and I think that's what make you such an amazing performer. Your music has really made a difference for me! i just wanted to say...Thank You!

Heard you perform on A Prairie Home Companion and my husband and I just sat in the car in the parking lot at church so we could hear the end of your song "Was It Ever Really Mine" and I felt so connected to God because we had just been talking about money and the stress of trying to make it and spend it wisely. Our seven year old said, "are we going to get out of the car now?" and we all laughed and went into church.

I came across your music while staying at Luther Olson's house, he had your cd in a player in the bathroom which I played as I got ready for the day. I must say that I have listened to a good deal of music (I am not saying I know much about it) and I must say that your sound is not only original but it also reaches me on a level that only a few other artists like Pearl Jam, older Chilli Peppers, and Switchfoot. I am hoping to catch your show at the Milwaukee Ale House. Keep it up and keep entering your journals. Thank you for your bit about emapthy in your bio, it made a lot of sense. I wish oyu the best with your career.

Heard Jon Troust on Prairie Home Companion yesterday, June 17th, and stopped dead in my tracks. Just wonderful to listen to . Thank you. Kept racking my brain...."who does he sound like? who's music has the same "jump" to it"?!?

Then I remembered....A band that has since broken up -- but came out of Portland, Maine.

Rustic Overtones....somewhere between them and John Troust...sound waves connected.

Again, thanks to PHC for including you on their show. Appreciate it. Lisa

Let the Portland, Maine community know if you're ever in town!

Hey Jon, I had my entire family listening yesterday to PHC. I wanted to be there, but I think I enjoyed it more by being able to listen to you (one of my friends) on the radio. Then seeing all the comments from all over the country was overwhelming. I am so happy for you!!!!!! Let me know if you need any help planning a tour, remember that is what I am going to be going to school for. :) Anyways, I will see you either Tuesday or Wednesday.
~ God Bless
Tammy

I work for 91.7 WVXU, Cincinnati (yes, it's an NPR station...) and it just so happened that I was running the board when your tunes were featured on A Prairie Home Companion... Great stuff. I also am in charge of our music interviews, and if you're ever planning on doing some gigs here in Cincinnati, I'd love to have you come in to the studio for a chat. (being a musician myself, I know for a fact that this town would love your stuff!) Again, well done!

Jon,
Great job on the Prairie Home Companion! We all gathered around the radio like the groupies we are...can you do this again next weekend? I got the kids to get a lot of chores done around here so that they would be free to listen to you!!!
Seriously, we were very proud of you. Congratulations,

I heard your music at Ravinia today and really enjoyed it! I was with some people who attend your church as well and they were both surprised and elated that you were playing with Prarie Home Companion.

I look forward to listening to your music now on my way to work!

Blessings...

Heard you on PHC on the way to work tonight )I am ane EMT-Licensed paramedic and we are always at work... two things that don't close... the jail and hospitals.)

Anyway, I really enjoyed your music and your performance. I especially like the Hammond B-3 in the first tune "Was it Ever REally Mine". Great sound, great band. Come to Texas sometime. let me know when!

BTW, I've been to lake Geneva on the way to Pottowatamie Hills Girl Scout Camp way back in my younger days. Lake Geneva was the home to the ORIGINAL Playboy Club... nothing to do with Hugh Hefner.

Cheers and keep on singin'!

Hey Jon! Congratulations on your date with Garrison! As a native Minnesotan, I consider this as really hitting the big time.
We love your CD. It is almost always picked as our "cleaning time" music, although we usually have to remind Elliott that he isn't getting much done just standing in the kitchen listening...
Hope to see you soon!
Aunt Renee
P.S. Uncle Pete says your bike is ready.

Jon, I was on your website reading the reviews from the press section, when I came across one comparing you to David Wilcox. That critic was absolutely right, another artist that I would compare you to is one that you introduced me to - John Gorka. You are a great storyteller, your songs have substance, and I really enjoy them. Thanks for making such great music!

Dustin Unger, Walworth, WI - Saturday, January 6th, 2007 12:02 AM
Hey man! I have emailed you before and you emailed me back! I thought that was truly respectful, but I expected it from you. Thanks! I was just putting your tunes onto my new ipod. you're up there with the best: Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Beck, Matt Costa, and a few huge bands! you fit right in though, you deserve to be at the top with everyone else. I've seen one of your live shows and it was the best show I've ever seen, probably because you connect with the audience through your heart. Anyway, I'll try to keep it short. Great job and thanks for your music.

Emily, DFW, TX - Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 3:22 PM
Just found your music through the Chris Rice website ... love it! Thanks so much!

Hi Jon,

Just in case we didn't already contact you... What are you currently doing to get airplay and charting for your most current release? That's what we do... artists hire us to get them airplay and charting on stations in the U.S. and Canada. I can send you some details in email if you like... just let me know if this is a good email address and I'll get them to you. Also... would love to get your physical CD or EP too, when it gets here, let's talk!

Glad you played, Already Married, Peoria, IL - Monday, December 18th, 2006 12:45 PM
I'm glad that we already got married & had you play, sounds like things are going to get busy! It's about time people are starting to realize & experience the talent of Jon Troast!

Abby, Grand Rapids, Michigan - Sunday, December 17th, 2006 10:51 PM
Yesterday I went to a friends wedding, and the last song on the slide show, during all the pictures of the couple, was a very familiar sounding voice. Yes Jon, you're very famous. As soon as "Something More" started playing, at least 25 people said, very loudly, things such as "Oh man I love this song!!", "Abby, this is your cousin!", and "I could marry that voice...". One requested that you play at her wedding (she's only 16 though, so don't plan on anything quite yet). Moral of the story- have talent like Jon, and you'll be set : )

Your'e That Way.

The song every heart is desperate to hear from its beloved. The song that so few ever do actually hear. Glad you can sing it for all of us who remain hopeful. Bringing us back to the realization that it is Christ who satisfies completely.... that frail humanity and the flawed love we give.... are diminished in the light of His love shining..... that way.

Abby, Grand Rapids - Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 3:09 PM
I just want to second Bobbi's motion that you get "Your Troast is ready" or "Wanna get Troasted?" t-shirts. Mine is wearing out, and I need to replace it...

Calvin, Lansing, Michigan - Monday, October 2nd, 2006 8:30 PM
youre the greatest, man. your music is amazing and i absolutley love it. especially that one song was it ever really mine. i cant wait till you come to Holland.

Bobbi Kuyers, Lansing, MI - Monday, October 2nd, 2006 8:25 PM
My family has become HUGE Jon Troast fans! We love your Second Story cd. Any thoughts to selling t-shirts? I'd love a "Wanna get Troasted?" shirt, or anything else you'd do. If you did do one I'd suggest putting your website/myspace addresses on it somewhere for additional exposure. With Christmas around the corner they'd make great stocking stuffers! I saw that you'll be playing in Holland in November. It would be an hour and a half trip for us, but we are going to have to try to see you. Thanks for sharing your gifts! Bobbi

Greg Focker: Yeah, well I get paid too so it's sort of a everyone wins thing.

What program were you watching? The last two quotes seem a little shaddy to me. I definitly wouldn't believe them. However music can help children in many areas especially math, so they are right there.

I was inspired to check on getting one of your cds, which is how I stumbled across your site. I hope Tennessee is treating you well. Hey Jon -
I went out to my friend TW's place (TW AppleGate's) tonight for a soda after the Christian Karaoke thing in Delavan. When I was talking to TW he said that you and he are friends and have known each other for 6 or 7 years. WOW, isn't that funny? I have know TW for close to 20 years, we went to school together. (Wow that seems like a long time.) Man, the world keeps getting smaller and smaller. :)

I love music to my core, and it is what my life revolves around, and your music is always coming out of my speakers. I don't think I have ever heard such consistent great songs. Hi Jon! Just thought I'd drop you a line to wish you luck on your trip to Nashville. I was there a couple of years ago and it's a great place for a musician to be. I'm Phil Dantuma's father-in-law and he gave me a copy of your Awesome Wonder cd. I love it! I play bass guitar in a few bands down here including the Festival Of Praise worship group at our church. Your music really sounds good. I'll have to try to catch you sometime at Starbucks in Lake Geneva. Of course I know what a HUGE part Fedora Sound Studio plays in your success! Best of luck Jon!

You are my biggest fan!

Amanda Troast, Pocomoke, MD - Tuesday, April 25th, 2006 2:50 PM
I'm wondering who you are because i found you on Google and your last name was Troast and so is mine and I was shocked I would like to know if you are related to me which I highly doubt

not Jon - Wednesday, April 12th, 2006 6:20 PM
...as I am not Jon and have heard the newest material, I can state as a 3rd party that Jon's new songs are rip'n. I recommend a preorder copy cause when the big record companies get ahold of it, you can say you had the original (I bet Jon would even sign and authenticate). Its worth more, you know.

I love the internet, its on computers everywhere... get it. I made that one up.

I very much enjoyed your songs and worshiping with you at camp a couple weeks ago. and if it wouldnt be too much of a hassle i was wondering if you could email me the tabs to these songs that you sung
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Trading my sorrows ( i think you sang this one)
How great thou art
Blessed be your name
How long, deep,....
Days of Elijah
How Great is our God

thank-you extremely for offering to do this for me. Please, take your time getting back to me.
thanks, and keep serving until His coming,

Was looking at your performance schedule and thinking you need to get plugged into Chicago. I work at the Old Town School of Folk Music as a children's musician and am a little familiar with the music scene here. Would love to see you perform around town at some cafe's and would help in any I can. Thanks again Juls

Hey Jon,

I was doing a name search on you, and came up with this website. I guess that's probably not the most productive use for my one hour planning period, but oh well. Any how, I hope you're doing well and enjoying your music and life. Feel free to send me a quick email if you get a chance, I let my kids listen to some of your music in class, but they said it was lame (the really only like hip hop, sort of makes sence considering we live in the Alaska bush umm), well I think you're alright and stuff. Dan Cichowski

I was told by Abby "The Man" Tjapkes that I had to sign your guestbook so that you would know that it is because of her and Tim talking about you so much that I downloaded all of the songs you had available on the site. And now I feel guilty about not actually buying anything. We're gonna say that's because of Abby, too.

hey, Deaky -

thanks for being a voice of sanity about what a truly terrible movie Napolean Dynamite was (at least I think that's what you meant to say). I've only walked out of three movies in my entire life and ND was one of them - I predict it will NOT become a cult classic, but will sink like a stone in less than a year.

knock 'em dead on Sunset Blvd - and don't forget to call your mom & wish her a happy birthday afterwards -

love,

Aunt Kath

Hi you don't know me but i have been introduced to you by a friend of yours named andy. My son and i sat by him on the plane flying to SLC to ski. i told him we would send an email to report on our trip he shared your music and it is great my husband and son play in a worship band and i want to send andy one of his songs we don't have his email if you have him email us i'll send it. ski trip had a little unexpected event on the first day. twelve stitches at the ER due to an encounter with a tree. Chris is fine but it did change our plans a little. They skied at brighton day one , park city day three but only on the easy side due to events of day one.

keep on sharing the gospel

What can I say? First, I think God has blessed you with an amazing musical talent! It's awesome to see how you are giving back to God the gift that he has given you. I saw u up at Timber-Lee. I went for the 2nd year as a leader!! It was great as always! Where can I find that song, "Your Love is Deep.." That one & Bag End were my favorites. I'd like to also buy some of your earlier cd's 2! God Bless You in All You Do, Hope to see u at another one of your shows! ~Jaclyn =)

"Divine"

Dear God, not so long ago I
gave my life to You
But what i did not know at the time is that I
would end up worshiping two

from You I'd seek protection from the Evil one,
and from the Evil one I'd seek away to have myself some fun

And everytime I snubbed You off
to acheive a temporary fulfillment of mine
I was denying the fact that
Lord You are Divine

Beyond My wildest dreams
Lord You are divine
maybe that's why I had trouble
trusting you in every aspect of my life.

Pretty crazy...yeah?

Truly a gifted individual and growing into a legitimate triple threat. Singing, playing and writing seem to come as naturally as walking to Jon. We are fortunate to be traveling in the same time.

Jessica Konynenbelt, Zeeland, MI - Sunday, January 23rd, 2005 7:14 PM
Hey Jon, Randy said he just got a reponse from you--neat! I would like to be added to your email list--!Also, I It is sad to hear the band broke up. By the way, I just read a great book on God's plan for ones life--it is a funny fiction novel about guys going to church to meet girls. Maybe you could write a new song about it. It is called "Flabbergasted" by Ray Blackston.
Have a good one and peace to you.

Mark Hobbs - Sunday, January 23rd, 2005 9:51 AM
Hey Jon, Say Something- sounded good!

I'll do more than my best to spread the word of your good songwriting. I was reading your journal notes, and really felt what you were saying about "God's" plan for your life. I too struggle with that question. I
go for a long while just knowing in my heart that music is my passion and calling, and then self doubt wins out. I intend to keep it going and not give in to the doubt.

Thanks for the needed inspiration...Mark

Kelly (Nydam) Martel, Boston, MA - Friday, January 21st, 2005 12:03 PM

Jon,
I came to see you and my cousin (Vee-Valentine) play last night at the Mountain Top. Yes, I was the only one that knew of Sade! LOL. I have to say you rock! (As my aunt Melody would say, LOL- she has been talking about your for months and months now and also every time I go over to their house your cd is playing- no complaints from me) You talent is amazing and you have some very powerful lyrics there. Times, unfortunately, are changing. I hope this country does not lose all the values and morals we have been taught, since before any of us were born! I also hope that you continue to spread your wonderful talent that God has given you. You and my cousin jam great together. I definitely will be seeing you again! OK, guess this is more than a note. Sorry :)
Thanks,
Sarah Bochniak

Also, if possible I'll be up to Janesville on Friday with my son Valentine (18). I think I mentioned before he's been playing for many years. We listened (again) to your "Say Something" CD on Sunday. Dear Jon, thanks for the lyrics and visuals, and thoughts, and comments here...I guess just thanks for being you! and sharing it here. I just learned of the Disciple Fest event in neighboring Jefferson, and just went to the website tonight. I like your style. I'm going to pray really hard that people like yourself and the other groups come to Waterloo and lives be saved by experiencing it. God bless you, Jon! Sincerely, Linda

Ryan Bensheimer, LG-WI (www.mtzn.com) - Sunday, August 15th, 2004 10:47 PM
Jon, Sorry to hear about the band. It is like the end of an era! I grew up hanging out with the boys and the shows; kind of sad. I do hope you guys can all get together and jam regularly! There is nothing like a home town show! On a more positive note, I am glad to see you will be at the fair and have another GREAT CD on the way! You are going to be huge someday and I will look back at days of old with the Rubberband and Ashby and think how blessed we all were to sit in a small coffee shop with 50 of our favorite friends and listen to exceptional music. Your #1 on my playlists. God Bless!

~Psalm 37:4

Jon - Sunday, August 15th, 2004 9:05 PM
Tom and Laurie, my cd's are available through the website. They cost the same-$10, but you do have to pay the shipping costs. That may be the easiest way to get them though. Otherwise, they're available when I'm playing live(along with t-shirts).
I'm working on playing a lot more in the Chicago area, as well as Madison, Milwaukee, and the larger Midwest. I've started sending out press kits to quite a few places, but if you have any connections or any good leads, it would all be very much appreciated. And yes, I would love to play at the Trytabee Faire again next year.

Tom & Laurie - Saturday, August 14th, 2004 8:14 PM
The sixth annual Trytabee Faire was a huge hit. We have been getting comments almost every day from someone who saw your sets and thought they were great. We also need to know how we can get more copies of your CD's. We could burn them, but that would not support live music, and that is what Trytabee Faire is all about. Your CDs have been played quite a bit around here, and each time we listen we like the lyrics even more. Everyone also wants to know if you will be returning next year. Hopefully you will be able to fit us in. Now that you have cancelled your east coast tour, will you be looking into playing at Front Porch Music? There are some other places around here that you might be interested in playing. Let us know if you want us to make any contacts for you. Let us know if you are ever playing down here in Illinois or Indiana. Thanks for a great show. Peace, Tom and Laurie

Amanda, thanks for looking a little deeper into the songs. Lyrics mean
a lot to me, and sometimes I wonder if people are missing most of the
point. You are right about the symbolic meaning of dreamtree. Actually
though, it's a metaphor for our country. A lot of our roots are in some
real down to earth Godly principles, and I'm a bit worried that as we're
losing them and creating our own we're going to get kind of lost and
vulnerable. If you weren't able to understand all the lyrics, they should
be printed out on the music page of the website. Thanks again. Jon

I am really interested in your lyrics, particularly those of the song 'Dreamtree.' I recognize how it is more symbolic than literal. And that a tree, like each of our lives, must have strong roots instead of "broken pieces". The comparison is very, very true. I haven't seen lyrics so well thought-out since the music of Andrew Peterson.

Hi Jon! We listened to your newest cd on our way home from the shore today and we all really liked it. "Books and Bathing Suits" made me laugh, it's good to know nice guys are out there. Sara and I want shirts so we can wear them to school in September and advertise!

Dear Jon: Krista (Ryan's wife) gave me a copy of your CD Say Something. Absolutely awesome. I've been telling everyone about it. Both my son (Valentine) and husband (Jim) play and compose, so we really appreciate your talent. We're hoping to see you live (maybe up at Twin Lakes). Anyway, best of luck and God Bless you.
